Dr. Rani, DVM
Dr. Rani graduated from Veterinary College in India in 1991. After working for a few years in India, she moved to Australia with her husband. She worked in a research team in the Department of Animal Science, University of Western Australia Perth, for 4 years before moving to the University of Michigan Ann Arbor. Dr. Rani has worked as a veterinarian in Canada and USA for the last 18 years.
Dr. Rani is very kind, caring, and passionate about animals. She believes that continuing education is vital and attends as many medical and surgical conferences, hands-on training sessions, and seminars as possible.
Dr. Vanessa Sanchez Barba, DVM
Dr. Sanchez Barba has practiced veterinary medicine since 2022. She proudly graduated from Universidad de Guadalajara- Centro Universitario de Los Altos. She prides herself in providing quality care for her patients by continuously advancing her knowledge.
During her free time, she likes to relax at home reading books, watching movies with her family, or going out to play trivia with her friends.
Michelle Jewett, Practice Manager, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Michelle is the Practice Manager and a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Troy and Heights Animal Hospital. Michelle completed the Veterinary Technician Programme at Macomb Community College and took the VTNE in 1994 to get her LVT License. She prides herself on having a strong work ethic and establishing good communication with our clients and staff. She enjoys providing our patients with professional, compassionate, and quality care.
In her free time, she likes to go up North, where she grew up, and spend time with family, friends, and especially her dog Kotter.
Ashleigh Sisk, Licensed Veterinary Technician
Ashleigh is a Licensed Veterinary Technician at Troy & Heights Animal Hospital. She graduated in 2019 from the Veterinary Technician program at Macomb Community College and took the VTNE, and received her LVT license. She prides herself in providing the best patient care and educating our clients through all stages of their pets’ lives.
In her free time, she enjoys reading, watching Netflix, spending time with friends and family, and of course, spending time with her dog, Denver.
Mackenzie Hatfield, Veterinary Assistant
Mackenzie is a Veterinary Assistant at Troy and Heights Animal Hospital. She prides herself on being an advocate for those who can’t speak for themselves. It makes her beyond grateful to be able to be a part of an amazing team that helps save lives. In her free time, she loves being with her friends and family and going on trips. She also enjoys swimming, hiking, and spending time outdoors.
Alonso Martin, Veterinary Assistant
Alonso is a Veterinary Assistant at Troy and Heights Animal Hospital. He Is currently attending Wayne State University pursuing an engineering degree. He prides himself on being friendly and outgoing with all his pet patients and their owners to ensure the best experience.
During his free time, Alonso enjoys tinkering with computers and 3D printing, playing video games, watching movies, and taking his dog, Kali, to the park.
Audrey Handyside, Veterinary Assistant
Audrey is a Veterinary Assistant at Troy and Heights Animal Hospital. She prides herself on maintaining a fear-free environment and always working to find practices that keep both the pets and her fellow co-workers’ best interests in mind.
When she isn’t working, she enjoys flow arts, going to shows, traveling, hanging out with friends, and working out.
Kelli Dunstan, Veterinary Receptionist
Kelli is a Veterinary Receptionist at Troy and Heights Animal Hospital. She attended the University of Central Florida. She prides herself in giving excellent customer service. She wants clients and their pets to feel like a member of the family when they visit our office. She believes a smile goes a long way!
In her free time, she likes to explore different parts of the town and state. She also loves listening to music. Recently she moved to Michigan and is in love with Detroit Zoo. When not working, she also likes going to the beach and local parks.
